Are you ready for take-off?
My favorite vacuum is a backpack vacuum. It looks like those jet-packs one sometimes sees in a 1950s sci-fi B-movie.
The thing is, this vacuum is powerful. It has a super-strong motor that provides uber-suction for the dirtiest of floors, carpets and corners — making everything sparkling clean.
My organizing buddy Lorie, upon learning of my passion for excellent vacuums, said simply: “You’re dorkilicious!”

are you a superhero when it comes to cleaning and organizing your home?
Having the Best Vacuum: Why It Matters
If you can get your floors really clean, that’s a significant achievement. A mediocre vacuum isn’t going to be as effective at getting the dust and dirt removed from your home. My philosophy is that my time is so valuable, if I’m going to clean, I want to make it count!
The #1 Rule of Good Housecleaning
The #1 rule of housecleaning is that (because of the law of gravity): eventually, everything — all dust and dirt — ends up on the floor. When you understand this simple principle, it can help make your limited time go farther during household chores.
Do your chores, but remember to always save enough time for a good vacuuming at the end. If nothing else, all the old dust and dirt (that has floated down since your last home-cleaning) will be removed. Vacuuming, in my opinion, is even more important than mopping. Mops have a tendency to just dilute dirt and move it around, but not necessarily to remove dust and dirt (despite what you see on the television commercials).

The 2 Indispensable Housecleaning Tools
In fact, if I could only have 2 modern homekeeping tools they would be: my high quality, durable rubber gloves, and my backpack vacuum. With those two things alone, you can get a home sparkling clean!
This is my favorite vacuum below, because it teaches the dirt who’s boss!

I invite you to comment. I enjoy hearing your thoughts, ideas, opinions and questions!

I do love the backpack idea–especially when it comes to stairs. I think my dogs would enjoy not having a big vac coming right at them too!
It looks sooo sleek. How noisy is it? Getting older, suffering tinnitus, my motto seems to tend towards ‘the quieter the better’.
Nina, this particular vacuum is about standard, noise-wise. Not any louder than other vacuums, maybe just a touch quieter than average.

Looks like you are ready to take off! 3…2…1: BLAST OFF!
Hah! I know — I must admit, it’s kind of a workout wearing this thing on my back. I’m not saying it’s super heavy… but it sure ain’t super light!
